About Me

I’m a general and laparoscopic surgeon based out of Bangalore, India. I specialize in day care surgery, with specific interests in hernia, piles and mini-laparoscopy.

I’ve trained in Day Care Surgery and 3D mesh device for hernia repair at Day Hospital in Italy, and have received laparoscopic experience from University Hospital Essen, Germany.

At present, I lead the department of Day Care Surgery at Ramakrishna Group of Hospitals in Bangalore.

I helped develop the Hitech Hernia Program, an advanced hernia treatment procedure pioneered by the Hitech Hernia Centre, Bangalore.

Day Care Surgery

I’m a passionate advocate of Day Care Surgery. It’s a form of surgery in which a patient is hospitalized only for the duration of the surgery and is discharged on the same day (after a few hours of recuperation time).

We use special surgical and anaesthesia techniques to minimize pain during and after the procedure, enabling the patient to recover rapidly. It’s also cost-effective, and saves the patient time.

I’ve seen that when patients recover at home sleeping in their own bed, attended to by a dear one, it works wonders.

Ailments and Surgeries

Through these pages, I shall try to address the questions patients usually have about the fields I specialize in. Technological advancements, implications, side-effects and what to look for.

However this has far reaching implications… When antibiotics are used unnecessarily or an inappropriate course is used such as a single dose, it wipes off only the vulnerable bacteria and the more resistant bacteria survive leading to more severe infections.
